How do I delegate access to my account?

Delegated access lets another Latitude user work on a specific LinkedIn account without requiring you to share your LinkedIn login credentials.

Delegation is available only on certain Latitude plans and account configurations. It is different from inviting someone to join your workspace through a Latitude team seat.

Before You Delegate Access

Confirm that delegation is enabled for your account and that the person receiving access already uses Latitude.

Check Whether Delegation Is Available

To check your account:

  1. Open Accounts in Latitude.

  2. Find the LinkedIn account you want to share.

  3. Select the ••• actions menu.

  4. Look for Share Access.

If Share Access appears, delegation is enabled for that account.

If the option does not appear, your current plan or account configuration may not include delegation. Delegation is currently available for Services-enabled plans and other accounts specifically enabled for the feature.

Contact Latitude Sales to discuss upgrading or enabling delegation for your organization.

Confirm the Other Person Has a Latitude Account

The person receiving access must already have a Latitude account.

You will need to enter the same email address they use to sign in to Latitude. Sending access to a different email address will not connect the account to their Latitude login.

Delegating access does not create a new Latitude account or send a general workspace invitation.

Delegate Access to an Account

To share access:

  1. Open Accounts.

  2. Find the LinkedIn account you want to delegate.

  3. Select the ••• actions menu.

  4. Select Share Access.

  5. Enter the email address associated with the other person’s Latitude account.

  6. Select Share Access to confirm.

The LinkedIn account will become available to that user in Latitude. They will not need your LinkedIn username or password.

What Delegated Users Can Do

A delegated user can work with the LinkedIn account they have been given access to.

Delegated access currently allows users to:

  • Create and edit posts

  • Schedule content

  • View available analytics

Their access applies only to the LinkedIn account that was shared with them. It does not automatically provide access to your entire workspace or your other connected accounts.

Remove Delegated Access

You can revoke access at any time.

  1. Open Accounts.

  2. Find the LinkedIn account that was shared.

  3. Open Share Access.

  4. Locate the user in the access list.

  5. Remove their access.

The change takes effect immediately. The user will no longer be able to work with that LinkedIn account through Latitude.

Fix Common Delegation Problems

Share Access Does Not Appear

If you do not see Share Access in the account’s actions menu, delegation may not be included in your current plan or enabled for that account.

Contact Latitude Sales if you want to add delegation, team collaboration, or a Services-enabled configuration.

Contact Latitude Support if your plan already includes delegation but the option is unexpectedly missing.

The Email Address Is Not Recognized

Confirm that:

  • The person already has a Latitude account.

  • You entered the email address they use to sign in.

  • There are no spelling errors or extra spaces in the email address.

Ask the user to confirm their Latitude login email before trying again.

The Wrong Account Was Shared

Delegation is granted separately for each connected LinkedIn account.

Return to Accounts and confirm that you selected Share Access from the actions menu beside the correct profile.

If you shared the wrong account, remove the user’s access and repeat the process from the correct LinkedIn account.

The User Cannot Find the Shared Account

Confirm that:

  • Access was sent to the correct Latitude email address.

  • The user is signed in with that same email address.

  • The access was not removed after it was granted.

  • You shared the intended LinkedIn account.

If the account still does not appear, contact Latitude Support and include the account name and the delegated user’s Latitude email address.

Delegated Access vs. Team Seats

Delegation is intended for giving an existing Latitude user access to a specific LinkedIn account. It is not a replacement for multi-seat workspace management.

Use delegated access when another Latitude user needs to help manage one of your connected profiles.

Use Latitude team seats when your organization needs to:

  • Invite coworkers into the same workspace

  • Give each person their own workspace login

  • Assign roles and permissions

  • Control access across multiple accounts

  • Manage employees, contractors, or agency collaborators
