Connecting your LinkedIn account to Latitude only takes a few minutes. This article explains how to connect an account, enable analytics, and resolve the most common connection problems.
Most connection errors happen because LinkedIn automatically uses the account currently signed in through your browser. Before starting, make sure you are signed in to the LinkedIn account you want to connect.
Connect Your LinkedIn Account
You can connect a LinkedIn account during your initial Latitude setup or add one later from the Accounts page.
To connect an account:
Open Accounts in Latitude.
Select Add Account.
You will be redirected to LinkedIn.
Sign in to the LinkedIn account you want to connect.
Review the requested permissions and select Allow.
You will be redirected back to Latitude.
Once the connection is complete, the account should appear on the Accounts page with a Connected label and an Active status.
When connecting an additional LinkedIn account, log out of LinkedIn in your browser before beginning. This prevents LinkedIn from automatically authorizing the account that is already signed in.
Enable Analytics for the Account
Connecting an account allows Latitude to publish content to it. Analytics require a separate authorization.
To enable analytics:
Open Analytics in Latitude.
Select the account from the account menu.
Select Enable Analytics.
Sign in to the LinkedIn account that matches the account selected in Latitude.
Approve the requested permissions.
Analytics must be enabled separately for each account you want to track. Enabling analytics for one LinkedIn account does not automatically enable it for your other profiles or Company Pages.
Fix Common Connection Errors
The Wrong LinkedIn Account Opens
LinkedIn may automatically use whichever account is currently signed in through your browser instead of asking you to choose an account.
To fix this:
Open LinkedIn in your browser.
Sign out of the active LinkedIn account.
Return to Latitude.
Start the connection or analytics authorization again.
Sign in using the correct LinkedIn credentials when prompted.
The LinkedIn account you authorize must match the account you selected in Latitude.
You See a Generic or Blank Error
A generic LinkedIn error can occur when:
Your LinkedIn session has expired.
The wrong LinkedIn account is active in your browser.
The authorization process was interrupted.
The LinkedIn permission window was closed before completion.
To restart the connection:
Sign out of LinkedIn.
Close and reopen the Latitude tab.
Return to Accounts.
Select Add Account and try again.
Make sure you select Allow when LinkedIn displays the permission screen.
The Account Connected, but Something Looks Wrong
Open the Accounts page and confirm:
The correct LinkedIn profile name appears.
The account is labeled Connected.
The account has an Active status.
Multiple connected accounts are listed under the correct names.
If the wrong LinkedIn account was connected, sign out of LinkedIn in your browser and reconnect using the correct credentials.
Analytics Were Enabled for the Wrong Account
Open Analytics and check which account is selected.
The account selected in Latitude must match the LinkedIn account used during authorization. If they do not match:
Sign out of LinkedIn in your browser.
Select the correct account in Latitude.
Start the analytics authorization again.
Sign in with the matching LinkedIn account.
Connect a LinkedIn Company Page
You must first connect the personal LinkedIn account that administers the Company Page.
Once the personal account is connected:
Open Accounts.
Select Add Organization.
Choose the LinkedIn account that manages the page.
Approve the requested LinkedIn permissions.
Confirm that the Company Page appears beneath the connected account.
You must have the appropriate LinkedIn permissions for the Company Page before it can be added to Latitude.

Still Having Trouble?
Start with a completely new LinkedIn session:
Sign out of LinkedIn.
Close and reopen your browser or use a private browsing window.
Return to Latitude.
Start the connection again from Accounts β Add Account.
Sign in to the correct LinkedIn account and approve all requested permissions.
If the account still does not appear as Connected and Active, contact Latitude Support and include:
The name of the LinkedIn account you are trying to connect.
Whether you are connecting a personal profile or Company Page.
A screenshot of the error.
