Setting up a team? You can manage team analytics without connecting your own LinkedIn profile. The connection and posting steps below are for each person whose posts you want to track.
Write in LinkedIn's normal editor, publish through Latitude, and see your post performance in Latitude.
Everyone connects their own account. Each person signs in to their own LinkedIn account and authorizes Latitude themselves. Never share LinkedIn passwords or sign in as another team member. Team members view analytics through their authorized Latitude access, not by borrowing someone else's login.
1. Connect your LinkedIn account
Sign in to Latitude with your own account.
Open Accounts and find your personal LinkedIn profile. If it is missing, choose Add Account and complete LinkedIn's sign-in. If Latitude asks you to reconnect, choose Reconnect.
If Latitude asks you to reconnect analytics, follow that prompt and approve access on LinkedIn. You can also open the menu beside your profile in Accounts and choose Re-authenticate Analytics. This gives Latitude permission to retrieve your performance data; it does not publish a post.
2. Install Latitude in Chrome
Install it in the Chrome browser where you use LinkedIn. This version is installed manually, not through the Chrome Web Store. If your company blocks manual extensions, ask your IT team for approval. Do not bypass company browser policies.
Find the downloaded ZIP, usually in your Downloads folder. On Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All. On Mac, double-click it to extract.
Keep the extracted folder somewhere permanent. You can rename it Latitude Extension and move it to Documents. Do not delete or move it after installation.
Enter
chrome://extensionsin Chrome's address bar.Turn on Developer mode in the upper-right corner, then click Load unpacked.
Choose the extracted folder from step 2. It is the folder containing
manifest.json. If extraction created an extra folder inside it, open that folder first. Select the folder, not the ZIP or an individual file.

Open Chrome's Extensions menu, the puzzle-piece icon beside the address bar, and click the pin next to Latitude. The Latitude icon will stay visible in your toolbar.

3. Connect the extension
Click the Latitude icon in Chrome and choose Connect Latitude. Sign in if asked and complete the connection.
Return to the popup. It should say Connected and show your own Latitude account.
Leave LinkedIn selected under Editor and Track posts on. New installations are ready to use these settings; an update keeps your previous choices.
Refresh your LinkedIn tab.
Prefer Latitude's content editor? Select Latitude under Editor. Select LinkedIn to return to LinkedIn's normal editor.

4. Publish your first post
In LinkedIn, click Start a post. Check that the author is your connected personal profile.
Write a text post or add an image using LinkedIn's editor. Use content you actually want to share.
Check the author and audience, then click Post via Latitude once.
Wait for Posted and use View post to check the published post on LinkedIn.
This publishes a real LinkedIn post. Nothing is published just by connecting the extension. If you do not get a publication confirmation, check LinkedIn before trying again so you do not create a duplicate.
5. View analytics
Open Analytics, select your profile, and choose dates that include the post's publication date. Find it under Post Performance. A new post may initially have no engagement, and metrics can take time to appear.
For team reporting, each person connects their own profile. Your team administrator manages who can view it in Latitude. You should not need to sign in as the executive to view their authorized team analytics. Contact Latitude if a profile is missing from the team view.
Troubleshooting
Developer mode or Load unpacked is blocked: ask your IT team to approve the installation.
The popup says Not connected: choose Retry connection if shown. If it still fails, open More options and choose Reconnect Latitude, or use Connect Latitude if you have not connected yet.
LinkedIn opens Latitude's editor: select LinkedIn under Editor, then refresh LinkedIn.
Post via Latitude is missing: confirm the popup says Connected, LinkedIn is selected, and Track posts is on. Under More options, check Publish through Latitude, then refresh LinkedIn. The post author must be your connected profile. Contact Latitude if the publishing option is unavailable.
A format or setting is not supported: keep your draft and follow the message shown. Do not remove settings you intended to keep just to force publication.
Analytics asks you to reconnect: follow that prompt in Latitude. Healthy connections do not need to reconnect every time they post.
Updates, mobile, and opting out
Manual installations do not update through the Chrome Web Store. Follow Latitude's update instructions when a new download is provided.
The extension runs in desktop Chrome. It does not run inside the LinkedIn mobile app or in browsers where it is not installed. Posts made there are not captured by this extension.
To stop tracking and publishing through the extension while keeping LinkedIn's editor, turn Track posts off and refresh LinkedIn. To turn off only Latitude publishing, use Publish through Latitude under More options. You can disconnect the extension using the power icon beside your account.
