Getting started

Your content strategy helps Latitude understand how to assist you when creating LinkedIn content.

The setup process allows you to define:

  • Your role and industry

  • Your target audience

  • Your content goals

  • Your preferred topics

  • Your preferred writing style

  • How much guidance Latitude should provide

  • Your posting schedule

To begin setting up your content strategy:

Select Dashboard from the left-hand navigation menu.

Complete the setup process by answering the provided questions and configuring your preferences.

Complete the Strategy step

The Strategy step helps Latitude understand your professional background, goals, and target audience.

During this step, you can provide information such as:

  • Your role

  • Your industry

  • Your goals for LinkedIn content

  • Your target audience

  • Geographic audience priorities

  • How you want Latitude to assist you

Provide specific information

The more specific your answers are, the more relevant Latitude’s recommendations will be.

For example:

A more specific audience description:

Entrepreneurs focused on AI integration within airline management or software development.

A less specific audience description:

People who work at airlines or software companies.

Both answers provide useful information, but a more detailed audience description helps Latitude better understand who your content is intended for.

Choose your content topics

The Strategy step also allows you to define the subjects Latitude should focus on.

You can select topics such as:

  • AI strategy

  • Industry-specific trends

  • Business operations

  • Other professional topics relevant to your goals

Latitude will use these selections when generating content recommendations.

Set content preferences in Guardrails

The Guardrails step allows you to control how Latitude approaches content creation.

During this step, you can configure:

  • Topics Latitude should avoid

  • Preferred tone

  • Level of Latitude involvement

Choose topics to avoid

You can select subjects you do not want Latitude to include in generated content.

Examples include:

  • Politics

  • Controversial opinions

  • Gossip-focused topics

This helps keep your content aligned with your preferred communication style.

Select your preferred tone

You can choose the tone Latitude should use when generating posts.

Examples include:

  • Friendly and conversational

  • Professional and business-focused

  • Other available tone options

Choose Latitude’s level of involvement

You can control how much assistance Latitude provides.

Available approaches include:

  • Hands-off: Latitude provides assistance only when requested.

  • Balanced: You create content while Latitude provides feedback and suggestions.

  • Guided: Latitude works with you throughout the content creation process.

Configure your posting schedule

The Launch step allows you to configure your initial posting schedule.

To update your posting schedule:

Navigate to the Cadence section on the right side of the Launch page.

Select the date you want your first post to be published.

Choose your preferred timezone.

Latitude will use these settings when scheduling future content.

Review generated content examples

During the final step of onboarding, Latitude generates example posts based on your previous strategy selections.

These examples allow you to preview how Latitude will use your content strategy when creating posts.

Below the generated posts, you can further adjust the style of future drafts.

Available tuning options include:

Stronger hook

Makes the opening of the post more attention-grabbing and engaging.

More credible

Adds support and validation by encouraging measurable results, evidence, or business impact.

More tactical

Makes the content more practical by focusing on clear steps, examples, or actionable guidance.

More personal

Adds a more conversational approach by encouraging audience interaction and personal connection.

More concise

Makes the post shorter and more direct.

Wrong direction

Adjusts the content by identifying a potential problem and presenting a solution.

Updating your content strategy

You can update your content strategy at any time.

To edit your strategy:

Open the left-hand navigation menu.

Select Settings below Accounts.

Locate the Review your content strategy section.

Select Open content strategy in the bottom-right corner.

Latitude will return you to the content strategy setup process, where you can update your previous answers and preferences.

How strategy changes affect existing content

Updating your content strategy affects content generated in the future.

Existing drafts and previously created posts will not be changed.

For example, if you update your preferred tone from personal storytelling to practical education, future generated posts will follow the new preference while previously saved drafts will remain unchanged.

Improve content recommendations

If generated content does not match your goals, review your content strategy settings.

Consider adjusting areas such as:

  • Audience definition

  • Preferred topics

  • Tone preferences

  • Level of Latitude guidance

For example, if posts feel too personal when you want industry-focused content, adjusting the tone toward Practical and Educational may help improve future recommendations.

If you have updated your content strategy and Latitude still does not generate content that matches your goals, contact support for additional assistance.

What to keep in mind

A well-defined content strategy helps Latitude generate more relevant recommendations and posts.

Providing specific information about your goals, audience, and preferred communication style gives Latitude more context to work with, while updates to your strategy will only affect future content generation.
